Love the dead south, they are great! I really want to see what happens with Gwen - will her endometriosis be fixed, will the pain of having sex go away? The pain of having sex could be argued as a partial justification for her controlling action on Mel, but that turned into a crazy controlling situation where she just used it. So why do they love each other still? They have their child, but most relationships would just be dead at that point, just continue over the love of their child.
I see a bit of my relationship in this one. It's painful to see, and I wonder if this writing is cathartic for you. I hope it is! I love the real world plot choices that can happen - Mel is worried about a loud ORV, Mel gets his daughter's noise protectors, and then it's incredibly loud with no muffler! But they still went.
It's hard to get past my feeling that Mel is the personification of you the author, and this is your real daughter.
