I don't know about other countries.
But in the USA (of which Hawaii is a part) the Federal law is 24 hours between drinking alcohol and piloting an aircraft.
That is not from the beginning of the drinking but from the end.

I quit drinking after 25 years, it's been 2 years now and though I can enjoy a glass of wine with a steak or an ice cold Stout with pretzels and cheese, I don't know HOW these guys drink like they seem to do in some of these stories! Weed is awesome, nothing like being high, hard and horny! Alcohol? Knocks my dick in the dirt everytime. Viagra MIGHT help but not with the feeling of overall yuck from drinking, I'd just want to sleep! Carry on boys, carry on!
