I'm posting this in case it helps anyone else. I was on Adderall 30mg twice a day for several years and recently switched to Ritalin because the number of times my wife would say "Did you take your meds?" had increased significantly. Adderall (30mg twice daily) - Positives - Extremely effective Negatives - Dry mouth, increased heart rate (HR was always in the 90s even though I exercise for at least 30 minutes a day.) Ritalin ER (30mg twice daily) - Positives - Somewhat effective, lower heart rate, no as much dry mouth Negatives - I constantly feel like I could take a nap and I'm not a person who has ever been able to take a nap. I've even caught myself closing my eyes for a few seconds at work. I get 7-8 hours of sleep at night and I fall asleep as soon as I hit the pillow, so I don't think that's an issue. I've also been feeling very calm and apathetic. I've made an appointment with my doctor so I can talk to him about switching back to Adderall. It's weird that a stimulant would make me feel like a zombie, but it definitely does.
